Tour de Champaign 2012 Pictures and Race Reports

The Tour de Champaign returned to it’s original course for 2012.  The 4 (and a half?) corner crit is flat and fast.  The temperatures were high (mid 80′s by day’s end) and for many Chicagoans, it was the first “hot” race of the season.   Druber was drop’n beats in tribute to MCA  and for the most part the races were safe and clean.  There were plenty of fireworks too.  I can’t go without giving props to Eric Blankenship who went GO from the gun in both his 3 /4 and 3 race.  Ultimately he was caught in the 3/4 race but he and (eventually some others) did stay away in the 3′s race.

Strava Fun

The course was well suited for Davids, with David Reyes and David Morse turning the fastest laps of the day.
