Leland Kermesse 2012

Leland Kermesse returned in 2012 after a brutal 2011 that saw sub 40 degree temperatures and downpours of sleety cold rain. In a race typically defined by the elements, wind or rain usually, 2012 was rather pleasant. With minimal wind, there was a sense of the unknown before the race. Would 2012 be the year the races stuck together? No. Not at all. The nearly 6 miles of gravel each lap separated the the haves and the have nots as it tends to each year.
